IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia, on Poland’s Baltic coast, was raced on Saturday 19 July 2026. Agnieszka Gadomska won the women’s race, and in the men’s field the German Maximilian Sperl broke the race open on the bike and held the lead to the finish.

Gadomska takes the women’s race

Agnieszka Gadomska won in 4:15:42. Mimi Carlton was second in 4:18:23 and Rikke Bjerg third in 4:21:23. Gadomska took the lead on the run, built her gap inside the first kilometre and never gave it back. Two and a half minutes of margin over 70.3 is not an accident.

The Gdynia half has drawn a strong international field for years, and this edition was no different.

Sperl: the bike made the difference

The men’s race was simple to describe and hard to stop. Maximilian Sperl won in 3:43:48, building his advantage where it works best, on the bike. A solid bike split gave him a buffer his rivals could not pull back on the run.

Andrew Horsfall-Turner took second in 3:47:23 and Lars Lomholt third in 3:48:40. The gap between first and second was more than three and a half minutes. At this distance that is a wide margin, and it says plainly that whoever controls the bike leg dictates the terms.
