Trails & Tarmac 12hr BackYard Ultra - Summer

Join the latest instalment of the Limitless Trails BYU Series, a Backyard Ultra–style challenge with a twist. Set just outside Crickhowell in the Black Mountains, the course blends trail and tarmac roughly 50/50, with one gradual climb, a short punchy ascent, and plenty of fast, runnable terrain. Runners take on a 4.2-mile loop each hour, answering the bell from the starting corral until only one remains. Complete 32 miles and you’ll earn an ULTRA medal; the last person standing claims the winner’s trophy. Expect reliable timing, a welcoming HQ with water and snacks throughout, and hot food served after the fifth yard. Standard BYU rules apply: start each loop at the bell, finish within the hour, no poles, no personal aid while on course, and slower runners yield. Supporters are welcome at HQ, but not in the corral, with calls limited to emergencies; staff manage the main kitchen, with a pop-up space for crew prep.
