Chiltern Wonderland 50

The Chiltern Wonderland 50 is a 50 mile race around the beautiful Chiltern Countryside. The route takes in 5600ft of climb and visits picturesque villages bursting with history, featuring locations made famous by British film and television. 2016 was the inaugural running of the Chiltern Wonderland 50, making up the 3rd 50 mile race hosted by Centurion Running.This event utilises the Chiltern Way, the Ridgeway, and the Thames Path to showcase some of the best countryside and scenery that Oxfordshire has to offer. The course consists of a 50 mile loop that starts in Goring on Thames, heading out through villages such as MapleDurham, Bix, Turville, and Nuffield to name but a few, as well as taking in wonderfully named places such as Christmas Common, and leading you through the grounds of Stonor Park. This event really has everything from the slickly organised registration and kit check process, to a varied route which includes great trails, stunning vista’s and brutal hills, which is fantastically well marked, making it almost impossible to get lost.
