The Warsaw Marathon is the largest marathon in Poland, taking runners through the rebuilt historic center and modern districts of the Polish capital. The flat course along the Vistula River passes the Royal Castle, Palace of Culture, and the National Stadium. Founded in 1979, it attracts over 10,000 marathon runners annually.
