UMED100 - Ultra Mirage El Djerid

The Ultra Mirage© El Djerid (UMED) Race series is a pioneering ultra-marathon that takes place annually in the breathtaking Tunisian Sahara. Set in the Djerid region, with Tozeur as its gateway city, the event features both 100km and 50km single-stage races, challenging runners of all backgrounds to traverse an extraordinary range of terrains—including soft sand, rolling dunes, rocks, dried riverbeds, and lush oases. Each checkpoint along the route offers water, technical assistance, and medical support, ensuring runners’ safety in this awe-inspiring yet demanding environment. UMED welcomes everyone from elite ultra runners to passionate trail enthusiasts. Participants are immersed in the stunning natural beauty and cinematic landscapes of the Djerid, made famous by films like Star Wars and The English Patient. Organized by the non-profit Association Ultra Marathon Tunisie, UMED is committed to values of gender equality—being the first race in Tunisia to offer equal prize money—sustainability, and inclusivity.
