Tromsø Mountain Challenge

Late August you can take part in the Tromsø Mountain Challenge (TMC) that contains four mountain races and is a celebration of Mountains Running. There are three races on Saturday - TMC Dalheim Rundt 8km trail, Tromsø Mountain Ultra 50K and HalfUltra 25K. Buses bring the participants of the TMC Ultra 50K to Snarbyeidet where they embark on 50 kilometres of mountina terrain before finishing in Tromsdalen. The unique Arctic landscape set the stage for a spectacular race through an active reindeer herding District. The history of Sami reideer herding in this area goes back serveral hundred years. About half-way the participants from the TMC HalfUltra 25K join course with the 50K runners and side by side they ascend and descend the mountatins encircling the valley of Tromsdalen. The TMC Extreem Race is on sunday. 2,4K uphill run along the famous Sharpa Stairs in Tromsdalen that was built by Sherpas from Nepal. The race finishes at the Cable car station 420 meter over sea level. Welcome to Tromsø Mountain Challenge!
