Travis Hegel Marathon du Trans Penang

The Marathon du Trans Penang is a unique endurance race that traverses Penang Island from south to north, covering 41.76 kilometers and a total elevation gain of 1,632 meters. Starting at Country Home and Cafe in Gertak Sanggul and finishing at Faizal Homestay in Tanjung Bungah, the course is designed to showcase a blend of Penang’s scenic trails and roads—approximately 40% trail and 60% road. This event invites participants to experience some of the island’s well-loved paths, combining natural landscapes with iconic local landmarks such as Bukit Genting and the Balik Pulau roti seller mural. The race allows a generous 14-hour cutoff, encouraging runners of varying abilities to complete the journey.
