Surfers Point Marathon

Lined with palm trees along the Southern California coastline, Ventura Oceanfront boardwalk serves as the race start and finish line area for the Surfers Point Marathon which is set to make its annual running in mid-November on a course that will serve as a Boston Marathon qualifying race.The course is very flat and walker-friendly, organizers say, adding that it features a 7-hour course time limit for the full marathon. Most of the race takes place either within shouting distance of the beachfront or along the beachfront boardwalk itself, as the race will start overlooking the waves crashing along the shoreline of Promenade Park, which lies just down the beach from Surfer’s Point Park and the Ventura County Fairgrounds.
