About the race
Seoul Marathon is the world’s second-oldest marathon after Boston and one of Asia’s most prestigious road races. Celebrated for its flat, fast course, certified by World Athletics, it draws elite and sub-elite runners chasing personal best. The full marathon starts from Gwanghwamun Plaza against the backdrop of Gyeongbokgung Palace, threads through the vibrant heart of the city, and finishes inside the historic Jamsil Sports Complex—home of the 1988 Olympic Games. An electric atmosphere awaits, with tens of thousands of spectators lining every kilometer of the course. A popular 10K runs alongside the main event, attracting a diverse field.
