About the race
Take on the Lake and make it your greatest challenge this year. Known affectionately as the “People’s Marathon” the iconic Rotorua Marathon is Australasia’s oldest marathon event. The Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon is an annual event with full 42.2km marathon, 21.1km half marathon, 10.55km quarter marathon and 5.5km running/walking events. One of the unique charms of the full marathon is one lap of Lake Rotorua is almost exactly the full marathon distance (give or take a few hundred metres). No more. No less. Perfect The Lion Foundation Rotorua Marathon celebrates this years event with all marathon finishers receiving a souvenir event T-shirt and Finishers medal. The souvenir medal is part of the entry price and for those that complete the Marathon only.
