About the race
The Niigata City Marathon is an annual citizen-participation marathon held in October in Niigata, Japan — now in its 40th year. The course starts at Denka Big Swan Stadium (home of J1 League club Albirex Niigata and a 2002 FIFA World Cup venue), passing the Niigata City History Museum and running along the Sea of Japan coastline.
