About the race
The Marine Corps Marathon is known as The People's Marathon, as it is one of the largest marathons in the world that does not offer prize money. The course passes iconic Washington DC monuments including the Lincoln Memorial, US Capitol, and the Pentagon. Organized by the United States Marine Corps, it has been held annually since 1976.
