The Arctic Marathon or a half-marathon is one of the five stages of the Finland Arctic Challenge. Expect to run/walk on ice, snow, and in -25°C /-13F° temperatures! The Marathon stage is timed. The other disciplines are considered as challenges rather than raced. The Finland Arctic Challenge is a unique 5-Day multisport expedition that takes place above the Arctic Circle in the middle of Lapland's stunning wilderness. In addition to the marathon / half-marathon stages includes, snowshoeing, back-country skiing, fat-biking, as well as husky-dog sledding. Based out of wilderness cabins, you will experience Lapland in the most authentic way! Hearty meals, traditional Finnish sauna and ice dips, fireside chats, and Northern lights spotting are part of recovery in the evenings. Your event fee includes everything in Lapland – all you need to do is train and show up! Previous skills are not required, stamina is. This event challenges every participant.
