About the race
The Donegal East Running Event features three race distances: Mini Marathon (13km), the Half Marathon, and the ¾ Marathon. Renowned for its popularity among runners seeking a competitive training race before a full marathon, this event also stands out for its speedy route and picturesque country roads, offering a refreshing contrast to the typical flat urban marathon scenery. Ideal as a warm-up race for the Dublin Marathon, scheduled just four weeks later, participants can enjoy the scenic course along the River Finn in Ballybofey, Co. Donegal. The rural roads add a unique charm to the event, creating a memorable running experience.
