The Connemara International Marathon is a day of road running/racing around a very scenic part of the West of Ireland. Comprising of a Half Marathon, a Full Marathon and an on-road Ultra Marathon (39.3 miles) all taking place on the one day . The inaugural Connemara International Marathon (or Connemarathon) in 2001 had 70 runners. Now this amazingly scenic race has room for 3,200 runners. The Connemarathon attracts runners and walkers from all over the world. In 2015 participants came from 28 countries to experience the stunning course. Our international participants enjoy a warm Irish welcome along with the sense of comradeship on the route and the unmistakable buzz of the day. No other sporting event gives people such a taste of Ireland and its highlights.
