The Athens Authentic Marathon follows the legendary original route from Marathon to Athens, tracing the path of the ancient Greek messenger Pheidippides. The challenging course includes significant elevation gain before a dramatic finish inside the Panathenaic Stadium, the site of the first modern Olympics in 1896.
